Organic Welltree’s Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Scotland in Perthshire. The location is ideal: from here you can quickly reach the beaches of the east coast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness, and the hiking and skiing paradise of the Cairngorms.

Perthshire offers idyllic hiking areas, historic highlights such as Scone Palace where the Scottish kings were crowned. Perth has it all – culture, cuisine and shopping.

The house was built in 1742 as an inn on the main road to Aberdeen and after a few years was sold to the newly built St. Martin’s Church. This is how the house got its name Kirklands – church land.

The guest rooms

The guest rooms have been sustainably renovated in keeping with the original architecture. Many natural materials were used, such as eco wall paint, organic vinyl and organic wool.

The rooms are individually furnished according to Scottish themes and equipped with high-quality wooden furniture, among other things. The bed linen, mattresses and towels are certified organic.

The following rooms are available:

• Highland Room
  Here you will find a Highland-style room with Harris Tweed and original wooden flooring. The large bathroom has a free-standing bath and shower.

• Mackintosh Room
  The Mackintosh Room is furnished in the Scottish Art Nouveau style after Rennie Charles Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald. The stained glass on the door to the bathroom was made by Sarah, a local glass artist. The Mackintosh high-backed chair is based on the original and was built in a small workshop in Glasgow.

• Island Studio
  The Island Studio is located on the 2nd floor under the roof and consists of a bedroom, large bathroom with shower and a small living room. The theme here is the Scottish coast. The bed is ultra-flat, similar to a futon bed. Harris Tweed is also used here. The carpet in the bedroom is hand-woven by an artist from the Isle of Jura.

Vegetarian organic breakfast

Start your morning with a sumptuous, freshly cooked, organic Scottish breakfast with fragrant herbal tea, freshly baked bread and homemade jams. All dishes are vegetarian or vegan and organic.

Breakfast is served in the historic fireplace room or in the conservatory.

The yurts

Do you love spending your vacation outdoors, waking up to birdsong in the morning and falling asleep under the stars in the evening?
Why not try glamping in our yurts? The Bramble and Elder yurts are located in our large natural organic garden. They are tucked away and private in different areas.

The yurts, which can be booked all year round, each stand on a wooden platform with a spacious veranda and garden furniture. They are insulated with wool and equipped with a wood-burning stove, table and chairs, plates, cutlery, glasses and a pot/pan. There are large windows at the front which provide a good view of the garden. The beds are handmade from sustainable wood by a local furniture designer.

A shower house with WC is available to our yurt guests in the garden. On the veranda there is a fridge, a kettle and food from the vegetarian/vegan organic range for purchase.

In summer, a barbecue with organic barbecue (vegetarian or vegan) can be booked on request.

Our yurt guests start with a breakfast basket with boiled or fried eggs (or vegan alternative), bread, jams, yoghurt dishes, orange juice, tea/coffee and more.

The price of the yurts ranges from £100-140 for 2 people. There is no electricity and internet in the yurts.
